Dirty Bananas

This dessert is the perfect compromise for a chocolate lover and a fruit lover. The banana and chocolate are wrapped in puff pastry with a touch of cinnamon sugar for a quick and easy dessert that tastes much more impressive than the time it takes to make.  As it bakes, the chocolate melts, making the banana appear dirty, thus the name.

Ingredients

½ pound puff pastry, (found in the freezer case)

2 bananas, peeled and cut into 4's or quarters

4 teaspoons cinnamon sugar

2 ounces 70% Sharffenberger bittersweet chocolate, broken into pieces

Vanilla ice cream

Methods/steps

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Thaw puff pastry. On a floured board, cut into four equal squares and set aside. Meanwhile, peel and cut bananas in half crosswise and half again length-wise so you end up with 8 ""quarters"" of banana. Set aside.<

When ready to assemble, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, place bananas in center and top chocolate pieces. Pinch sides and edges of pastry together like you are wrapping a box.

Place seam side down on parchment paper and bake in a 350°F for 30 minutes or until brown.

Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream.
